Three lessons from learning a language

Most of the afternoon went by without me noticing. The recipe is simple, the trick is to be patient with it.

I keep a short list of things that made the day better, and this one made it. I took the long way back, past the old houses near the water. I wrote a few lines in my notebook and then simply watched people pass by.

Sometimes the best plan is to leave the phone at home and walk. The first attempt was a small disaster, the second one was surprisingly good. I did not plan much this time, and it turned out to be the best part. A friend recommended it years ago and I finally got around to it.
