A weekend at the old town
Sometimes the best plan is to leave the phone at home and walk. If you have a favourite version of this, I would love to hear about it someday. The weather changed three times before noon, which is normal around here.
I keep a short list of things that made the day better, and this one made it. I wrote a few lines in my notebook and then simply watched people pass by. The first attempt was a small disaster, the second one was surprisingly good. Most of the afternoon went by without me noticing.
I took the long way back, past the old houses near the water. There is a bakery on the corner that opens before sunrise, and I have become a regular. A friend recommended it years ago and I finally got around to it.
